VMware’s Speedy NSX Channel Rollout

VMware has rolled out NSX to the channel quickly, launching its first formal reseller program in February  2014, with a set of 14 “Elite” partners around the world that already were up to speed on SDN. Then in June  2014, VMware revealed pricing for NSX and began selling it through distribution.

VMware in August 2014 launched a certification program for partners that have the technical chops to install, configure and manage NSX. In October, VMware unveiled its NSX Network Virtualization Competency, a comprehensive program that goes from entry-level certification all the way up to the most advanced certification, VCDX-NV.

☁ DataCenter Traffic – #Cloud #Storage

Datacenter Traffic

Cisco’s annual Global Cloud Index (GCI) reveals the latest findings and predictions on datacenter traffic and cloud computing between 2013 and 2018.

Datacenter traffic will triple

The study predicts that overall data centre will triple in volume, growing from 3.1 zettabytes (ZB) a year in 2013 to 8.6ZB in 2018. The figures will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of at least 23%.

The 8.6ZB of data centre traffic predicted is equivalent to streaming all movies, around 500,000 titles, and television shows, around three million titles, in ultra-high definition 250,000 times.

By 2018, cloud will also account for 76% of total datacenter traffic, an increase from 54% of datacenter traffic last year.
